National Sports Commission (NSC) chairman, Shehu Dikko, confirmed that FIFA officials will make on-site visit to Nigeria as part of the process of comprehensive reform of Nigerian football as directed by President Bola Tinubu.
Dikko said in a television interview that during their meeting with FIFA in Zurich, the world football governing body endorsed this reform but insisted “it must follow the proper process and the rulebook”.
He disclosed that the NSC are currently consulting with various stakeholders to agree on the way forward for the national sport.
A Normalisation Committee that would drive this reform could have a lifespan of between three months and a year, Shehu Dikko said.
This interim body will look at the rulebook, put things right with the structures and after which it will conduct an election.
