Moses Simon has expressed his gratitude to Nigerians after reaching 100 appearances for the Super Eagles, describing the landmark as a moment filled with “a thousand emotions.”
The Paris FC winger reached the milestone during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo, completing a remarkable international journey that began in March 2015.
“100 caps. One shirt. One country. A thousand emotions,” Simon wrote in a message to Nigerian supporters.
“To represent my country once is an honour. To do it 100 times is a privilege I will never be able to fully put into words.”
The 31-year-old thanked Nigeria for giving him the opportunity to represent the country, saying every appearance in the green and white carried a responsibility far greater than personal achievement.
He also paid tribute to the Super Eagles supporters, acknowledging their cheers, messages and criticism throughout his international career.
“You have given me strength on the best days and lifted me on the hardest ones. I have felt your passion every time I stepped onto that pitch,” he said.
Simon also thanked the Nigerian media for documenting his journey and holding him accountable, while recognising the contribution of his teammates, coaches, technical staff, family and everyone who has supported him along the way.
For the Super Eagles winger, the 100-cap milestone represents years of sacrifice, victories, defeats, lessons, friendships and memories rather than simply a number on his international record.
“I am deeply proud. Deeply grateful. And, above all, deeply honoured,” Simon wrote.
His century was marked in Uyo following Nigeria’s victory over Madagascar, with the winger presented with a commemorative Super Eagles jersey celebrating the milestone.
The achievement comes as Simon continues to play a key role for Éric Chelle’s side, with Nigeria preparing for their next Group L assignment against Guinea-Bissau.
After 100 appearances for the Super Eagles, Simon ended his message with a simple expression of gratitude and an affirmation of his commitment to the national team.
