The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Monday Agbonika, has charged personnel of the Edo State Police Command to uphold professionalism, discipline and operational effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.
Agbonika gave the charge on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during an interactive session with officers of the Command in Benin City.
The AIG was received by the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, alongside members of the Command’s Management Team and other senior officers.
It will be recalled that AIG Agbonika is the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Edo State. He was posted from the State Command to head Zone 5 following his elevation to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police a few months ago.
During the session, Agbonika engaged the officers on professional policing, operational effectiveness, discipline and leadership.
He also reminded them of the need to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities, particularly the protection of lives and property.
The interactive session provided an opportunity for the AIG to address issues affecting policing and encourage personnel to maintain high standards of conduct in the discharge of their responsibilities.
