BENIN CITY — More than 6,000 eligible voters in Edo State have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced its ward-to-ward collection exercise on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The commission disclosed this in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Officer in Edo State, Olayiwola Toyin.

According to the statement, the ward-to-ward collection exercise will end on Thursday, October 15, 2026, after which PVC collection will commence at the local government area level.

Toyin described the collection process as simple and time-saving, urging eligible voters who are yet to collect their cards to take advantage of the ongoing exercise before the deadline.

She emphasised the importance of obtaining PVCs to enable eligible voters to participate in elections, calling on members of the public who are yet to collect their cards to do so within the stipulated period.

The commission urged eligible voters to use the remaining days of the exercise to collect their cards and avoid missing the opportunity to do so at the ward level.
