Manchester United reached the semi-finals of the English FA Cup, following a come-from-behind 3-1 win over London outfit Fulham in their quarter-final fixture at Old Trafford.
Fulham appeared to be heading for their first FA Cup semi-final appearance since 2002 after Aleksandar Mitrovic opened the scoring in the 50th minute.
But Erik ten Hag’s side roared back with a vengeance at Old Trafford midway through the second half, and right up to the end of the match.
“It’s a massive win,” Sabitzer said. “We wanted to go back to Wembley and we did it.
Asked whether United won it or Fulham gave it away, Sabitzer said: “We won it. Why not? We scored three, they scored one. We were concentrated and focused; we came back and that’s the important thing.”
There was little to separate the two sides in the first half in an eventful opening period that lacked quality.
But Fulham came out for the second half in fierce style, with Antonee Robinson and Willian forcing smart saves out of David de Gea before Mitrovic opened the scoring on 50 minutes.
Bruno Fernandes duly converted from the spot, Marcel Sabitzer scored moments later and Bruno Fernandes made it 3-1 in added time.
The semi-finals hope to meet with Manchester United and Brighton, as we anticipate a clash of these two titans.
