The Delta State Government in a bid to cushion the effect of the economic hardship among the vulnerable in the State has engaged in the distribution of subsidy removal palliatives to all the Local Government Areas in the State.
The distribution kicked off at the early hour in the Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday.
The Warri South West Palliative Distribution Committee and the Local Government Palliative Coordinators of the 20 wards were all on ground to see to the even distribution of the items.
The items are 696 bags of rice, 356 bags of rice were distributed to the wards in the Ijaw Communities while 340 bags of rice distributed to the wards in the Itsekiri Communities, each ward were given 34 bags of rice respectively.

Hon. Arthur Akpodubakaye, the Vice Chairman Warri South West Local Government Area, who is also the Chairman of the Local Government Area palliative distribution Committee urged the 20 Local Government palliative coordinators to see to it that the items get to the poor and the poorest.
This is a test of our credibility and we should not fail the State palliative distribution Executives that have entrusted us with this great task, he said.
Speaking further, Hon. Arthur, explained clearly how the palliative distribution committee has put all in place, they have provided logistics and has also assigned other group of people to monitor the process.
He said when the bags of rice gets to the ward headquarters, it will be submitted to the community chairmen for the onward distribution to the people.
Hon. Arthur, the palliative distribution committee Chairman thanked the Executive Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oboriewori for the kind gesture, for putting smiles in the faces of the people and prayed for God’s guidance and protection over him and his family.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate the Governor for his victory at the tribunal, said the victory is a victory for all Deltans.
