… as Blackie assures PDP, Asue Ighodalo market women’s support
The Oredo chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated the Market Women Campaign Committee with a charge to project and market the party’s candidates ahead of the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial elections in the state.
Inaugurating the campaign committee at the Oredo Local Government Council Conference Hall, the Oredo Government Council Chairman, Dr. Tom Obaseki said the market women have always played important roles in the development of the State, and as such their voice and vote will count in the coming gubernatorial elections in the state. He encouraged the women to direct all efforts towards voting and ensuring victory for Asue and Ogie at the poll.
The Oredo Council boss stated that for the past seven years, Edo State has been experiencing progressive development under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, and to ensure the continuity, the state needs someone who understands what it means to take Edo to the next level, hence the choice of Asue Ighodalo.
Earlier in an address, the PDP Chairman, Oredo Local Government Area, Hon. Henshel Usiobaifo assured the market women that Asue Ighodalo will continue from where Governor Godwin Obaseki stops.
“He will ensure Edo State becomes an investment hub and this will positively affect their profit margin in their business places,” Usiobaifo assured.
While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Director General, PDP, Oredo campaign organization Hon. Raymond Enogieru, charged members to be committed to the mandate; which is to mobilise and vote for Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie come September 2024. He assured that victory for PDP at the poll will keep Edo State in a safe hand to move to the next level.
The President of the Market Women Association, Edo State, Madam Blackie Ogiamien, appreciated the PDP leaders and the Council Chairman for the stakeholders’ engagement and also for deeming it necessary to set up the Market Women Campaign Committee.
The Edo Market Women President assured the PDP leaders and Asue Ighodalo of market women’s support in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.
Similarly, ahead of the Edo State 2024 Governorship Election, the Chairman Ovia North East Local Government Council, Honorable Collins Osamede Ogbewe, has expressed utmost confidence in the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Asue Ighodalo, winning the September 21, 2024 election in the State.
The Council boss exuded confidence at the Official inauguration of the Local Government’s PDP Campaign Committee in Okada, noting that victory is certain for PDP in Ovia North East Local Government Area come September 2024.
Hon Ogbewe assured that the people in the Local Council Area will deliver the needed votes for the Party’s Candidates whom he described as the best among the lots fielded by other parties in the gubernatorial election which gives them an edge and boosting their chances of winning the election.
Addressing Members of the Party during the inauguration ceremony at the party’s secretariat in Okada, a foremost Leader of the party in the State and in the Local Government Area, Senator Ehigie Uzamere tasked the Campaign Committee to go all out to market the party’s candidate, Barrister Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Barrister Osarodion Ogie.
He noted that the performance of Governor Godwin Obaseki led Administration and the personality of the party’s candidates will make it easy for the campaign committee, as the contestants are sellable, owing to their antecedents and rich credentials.
On his part, the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government, Community, and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Monday Osaigbovo JP, expressed confidence in the party’s capacity and capability to come out victorious in the coming governorship election in the State. He stated that the task given to the campaign committee was to ensure a seamless victory for the party’s candidates in the Council Area come September.
