Caroline Dubois captured the WBC interim lightweight championship in just her 10th professional fight, outclassing Maira Moneo to secure a unanimous decision victory.

From the first round, Dubois demonstrated superior speed and skill, landing precise right hooks and powerful combinations that kept Moneo at bay. Despite Moneo’s reputation as a roughhouse operator, she struggled to catch up with Dubois, who utilized her footwork and hand speed to evade and counter effectively.

Dubois’ dominance was evident as she landed crisp punches with venomous spite, connecting with lead right hooks to the head and powerful lefts to the body. In the sixth round, Dubois scored a knockdown with a pinpoint left hook to the chin, further solidifying her control of the fight.

Moneo showed resilience, continuing to march forward and pressuring Dubois until the final bell. However, Dubois’ superior technique and power earned her a wide-point win, with judges scoring the fight 100-90, 100-89, and 99-90 in her favor.

After the fight, Dubois reflected on her performance, expressing confidence in her continued improvement and highlighting her impressive knockdown against the previously undefeated Moneo. “She definitely came in confident and you have to break somebody as well, that’s a bit difficult to do at times,” Dubois told Sky Sports. “I think I am getting better. I am 23 years old, how many 23-year-olds get a knockdown like that against an undefeated fighter?”
