The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Benin City Branch, Lion’s Bar, has honoured Festus Alenkhe, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo State Council, with its Award of Distinguished Service.
The award recognizes Alenkhe’s exceptional contributions to crime reporting and his impact on societal issues.
Nosa Edo-Osagie, Chairman of the NBA Benin Branch, presented the award, highlighting Alenkhe’s professionalism and the significant influence of his work.
Edo-Osagie noted that Alenkhe’s selection was based on a thorough evaluation of his contributions and stressed the importance of collaboration between lawyers and journalists to foster societal progress.
In his acceptance, Alenkhe thanked the NBA for the prestigious recognition and praised the legal profession’s role in upholding justice.
He expressed that the award would motivate him to continue his efforts in addressing crime and enhancing societal development. Alenkhe also reaffirmed the commitment of both the NBA and NUJ to work together in tackling social issues and promoting a safer community.
The Edo NUJ boss commended the legal community for its dedication and resilience and highlighted his recent participation as a guest speaker at the NBA’s Law Week in Benin City.
