The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State on Monday announced a 24-member transition committee that will work with a similar committee set up by the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki to ensure a smooth transfer of power to the incoming administration of Governor-Elect Monday Okpebholo.

This is coming four days after the Edo State government wrote to Senator Okpebholo and the APC to initiate the formation of a transition team, saying “establishing this team will allow us to begin meaningful discussions and share vital information that will ensure a seamless transfer of responsibilities and continuity of governance”.

In a response letter dated October 14, 2024 and addressed to Governor Obaseki, the Edo State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, while acknowledging the receipt of the governor’s letter, announced a 24-member transition team chaired by a former deputy governor of the state, Chief Pius Odubu.
