MTN Nigeria brought energy and inspiration to Benin City at the weekend with its Go Make A Difference (Go M.A.D) campaign, a nationwide initiative celebrating Nigerians who are driving positive change in their communities.

The event, which has travelled through cities such as Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, and Ibadan, combined cultural showcases with digital experiences to inspire and support local changemakers.

Speaking at the event, MTN Nigeria’s Senior Manager for Sales and Trade Development, Olaniyi Alabi, emphasised the campaign’s focus on resilience and innovation.

He reiterated MTN’s commitment to recognising and supporting Nigerians who push boundaries despite challenges.

The Benin edition featured an electrifying mix of virtual reality experiences, DJ performances, dance showcases, and interactive games.

A key moment was the Icons of Impact session, where local changemakers shared their personal journeys.

Princess Omoyemwen Adeyinka Afolabi, a sports coach and mentor, spoke about her nearly two-decade-long mission to transform young lives through sport.

She has helped many students in public schools secure scholarships and has personally funded school fees and learning materials.

With MTN’s support, she has expanded her impact through initiatives such as A Child, A Skill and the Edo Heritage Sports Festival and Carnival, blending education, skills development, and cultural preservation.

Another speaker, Veneyoze Osasere, a programme manager, highlighted how MTN’s family data package has reduced internet costs for youth mentorship programmes, enabling young people to develop skills and launch businesses.

Similarly, Twitter influencer Ogbebor Justice shared how he has used his platform to train youths in Web3 trading and cybersecurity, enrolling many in educational programmes and helping them develop marketable talents with MTN’s support.

Through Go M.A.D, MTN continues to showcase stories of resilience, proving that even small acts of service can create powerful ripples of change.

By empowering grassroots changemakers, the campaign reinforces the belief that every Nigerian has the potential to make a difference.
