The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Muhammad Musa Uduimoh, has assured Edo State pilgrims currently in the Holy Land that the Board remains committed to providing them with improved services throughout the pilgrimage.

According to Abdullateef Muhammad of Subtle Media Network, who is part of the NAHCON National Media Team for the 2025 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia, Chairman Uduimoh emphasised that the welfare and general care of Edo pilgrims is a top priority for the Board.

Uduimoh encouraged pilgrims in Makkah to remain calm, focused, and cooperative with the Board and the leadership of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

“Whenever you encounter any challenge while in Makkah, don’t hesitate to draw our attention to it. One thing is certain, we are determined to serve you better than ever,” he stated.

Many Edo pilgrims commended the Chairman for the quality of care and support provided both in Madinah and Makkah, noting that he has demonstrated competence and experience in managing their affairs.

However, some pilgrims pointed out that the accommodation provided in Madinah was more convenient due to its proximity to the Haram, compared to the lodging in Makkah, which they said was farther away.

Responding to the concerns, Chairman Uduimoh explained that the accommodation arrangements in Madinah and Makkah are structured differently.

He noted that first-time pilgrims often expect the same standard or better facilities in Makkah after experiencing Madinah, but the realities vary.

“Sometimes, things may not turn out exactly as expected. The accommodation setup in Makkah differs from that in Madinah. For your information, we’ve already been commended for the arrangements we secured in Makkah, especially when compared to what other states have,” Uduimoh said.

He added, “Taking care of Edo pilgrims in the areas of accommodation, feeding, and all other aspects of the Hajj is my utmost priority. Please always report any complaints to us for prompt and appropriate action.”
