Stakeholders from across Edo State have praised Governor Monday Okpebholo for tangible achievements under his administration’s SHINE Agenda, as anticipation grows for the launch of the newly revitalised Edo Line bus service.
At a stakeholders’ sensitization workshop in Benin City, participants commended the government’s emphasis on infrastructure, health, education, security, agriculture, and food sufficiency.
Roads, schools, and healthcare projects were cited as evidence of rapid development in less than six months.
Political scientist and rights activist Prof. Felix Orhiakhi of Federal University, Otuoke said Governor Okpebholo is restoring trust in governance by tackling long-neglected federal roads and embracing transparency.
“No responsible government should excuse the neglect of roads essential to its people,” he said.
Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, reiterated that the essence of government is societal transformation.
He described the SHINE Agenda as a clear and results-driven framework already shaping policy and public confidence.
Representing the Governor, Commissioner for Finance Engr. Emmanuel Okoebor stated that the administration’s success has been due to strong public backing.
He announced that new buses for the relaunch of the Edo Line have been procured and are awaiting commissioning.
The workshop featured participants from civil society, the clergy, educational institutions, security agencies, and government MDAs, marking it as a robust dialogue platform for inclusive development.
