BENIN CITY – Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his focused leadership and commitment to purposeful governance, stating that Edo State is experiencing steady progress under his administration.
According to Ohonbamu, Governor Okpebholo has shunned frivolities and is executing a well-structured development agenda designed to reposition the state for growth and prosperity. “Those who understand the workings of government can clearly see that new and impactful initiatives are unfolding under the Governor’s watch,” he said.
Among the notable developments is the revival of Edo Line, the state-owned transport company that once symbolized Edo’s identity nationwide. The Commissioner revealed that new offices are being opened in strategic locations, and buses have already been commissioned to restore the once-vibrant service.
Ohonbamu noted that from his first day in office, Governor Okpebholo demonstrated unwavering commitment to the slogan “Edo Has Risen”, envisioning a state that aligns with the aspirations of its people. He urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, assuring that pressing issues are being addressed systematically.
“The Governor is fully aware of challenges such as drainage and flooding in parts of the state. These problems are receiving attention and will soon be a thing of the past,” he added.
Highlighting security efforts, Ohonbamu disclosed the establishment of a mobile police barracks in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, to curb rising insecurity and protect farmers from armed attacks.
Governor Okpebholo, he stated, is committed to changing the narrative in Edo State by delivering the dividends of democracy across critical sectors. In just six months, his administration has given Edo people a glimpse of what to expect, driven by an energetic and visionary approach to governance.
The Commissioner also applauded the Governor’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and swift execution of strategic projects, noting that public support and commendation for his efforts continue to grow daily.
Furthermore, he emphasized the Governor’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements operating under the guise of cultism, stressing that peace, security, and good governance remain top priorities.
“With his bold steps toward security, human capital development, and infrastructure, Governor Okpebholo is steadily transforming Edo into the state of our collective dreams,” Ohonbamu concluded.
