The Director-General of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.
His resignation was contained in a letter dated July 17, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman in Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Andrew Esemuede.
Iduoriyekemwen cited recent developments within the party as his reason for leaving. He said the PDP no longer reflects the ideals of its founding fathers.
He described the decision as difficult but necessary, adding that the party had played a vital role in his political and personal development.
He said the values that once defined the PDP, democracy, inclusiveness, and people-first principles had been eroded.
Iduoriyekemwen stressed that his resignation was not done in anger or haste, but after careful thought. He said he needed to preserve his personal integrity.
He added that he would now focus on his family and business activities.
He thanked the party leadership and members of his ward for their support over the years.
He concluded by wishing the PDP well in its future endeavours.
