… Appoints Kasimu Otono as SA on Oil and Gas

BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has nominated four new commissioner-designates and forwarded their names to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The nominations were contained in an official press statent signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor.

The nominees are Hon. Nosa T. Adams, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, Hon. Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, and Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa.

The move is part of the administration’s ongoing effort to fully constitute the State Executive Council and enhance the delivery of its developmental agenda.

The four nominees are expected to join the six commissioners already sworn in earlier this year. 

The currently serving members of the cabinet include Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu (Information and Communications), Dr. Washington Osa Osifo (Water Resources and Energy), Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu (Education), Sir Lucky Eseigbe (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Andrew Ijegbai (Mining), and Barr. Marie Olabisi Idaomi (Women Affairs and Social Development).

Once confirmed, the new commissioners will further strengthen governance and contribute to the realization of the administration’s objectives across key sectors.

The statement from the SSG urged the Edo State House of Assembly to give the nominations prompt consideration.

Meanwhile,Governor Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Barrister Kasimu Otono as Special Adviser on Oil and Gas.

The appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., who disclosed that Otono replaces the suspended former Special Adviser, Mr. Felix Isere.

Barrister Otono is a legal practitioner, real estate entrepreneur, philanthropist and community mobilizer. 

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. 

He currently serves as Senior Partner at Kay & Kay Legal, a law firm specializing in Commercial, Real Estate, and Oil and Gas Law.
