ABUJA – Hon. Omosede Igbinedion has been officially sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ovia Federal Constituency of Edo State.

She took the oath of office on Tuesday alongside two other lawmakers, Hon. Felix Bagudu from Kaduna State and Hon. Murktar Rabiu from Jigawa State, during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen.

The three lawmakers, all of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were ushered into the Green Chamber by the Clerk of the House before taking their seats.

Igbinedion’s return to the National Assembly follows her victory in the recent by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), where she polled 77,053 votes to defeat other contenders.

The by-election was held to fill the vacancy created in September 2024 after the former occupant, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, assumed office as Deputy Governor of Edo State.

With her swearing-in, Igbinedion, a former lawmaker who previously represented Ovia Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2019, has made a comeback to the House, where she is expected to continue her legislative engagements and advocacy for her constituents.
