BENIN CITY — The Edo State Government says it remains firmly on course to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people and will not be distracted by criticisms from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, stated this in a release issued in Benin City.

He stressed that the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration is focused on fulfilling its campaign promises and meeting the expectations of Edo citizens.

“Ohonbamu said the Edo State Government strongly condemns attempts by the PDP to undermine ongoing developmental efforts through inciting statements,” the statement read.

He noted that while the government upholds freedom of expression, such actions aimed at discrediting genuine efforts to move the state forward are unacceptable.

“The government remains resolute in implementing its roadmap for progress and will not be stampeded by unfounded criticisms. Governor Okpebholo’s administration is methodically pursuing its programmes to ensure lasting benefits for the people,” he said.

The Commissioner urged residents to remain calm, patient, and law-abiding, assuring them that with sustained commitment, the administration would deliver tangible results across sectors, especially in infrastructure and social development.

He further advised the public to disregard what he described as “armchair criticisms” from the PDP, which, according to him, failed to deliver meaningful development during its years in power.

“With a little patience and continued support, Edo people will soon see the full impact of the Governor’s vision and developmental agenda,” Ohonbamu added.
