ABUJA: A property dispute suit filed against Senator Iyabo Obasanjo and others suffered a setback on Monday as no lawyer appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Mohammed Umar consequently adjourned the matter to March 30 for further mention.

The plaintiffs, ABB Electrical Systems Limited and Ambassador Yohana Margif, are contesting ownership of a parcel of land located at Plot 4254, Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro District, Abuja.

Other defendants include former FCT Senator Philip Aduda and five others.

The case, formerly before Justice Inyang Ekwo, had earlier stalled after the court declined to grant an ex-parte injunction restraining the defendants from accessing or altering the property.

The plaintiffs insist they are the rightful owners by virtue of a statutory right of occupancy issued by the Federal Capital Development Administration, warning that alleged activities by the defendants could cause irreparable damage.
