…Inspects road projects across Edo South

BENIN CITY — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has declared that a “new Edo” is under construction as his administration pushes ahead with massive road and drainage projects across the state to stimulate economic growth and improve the living conditions of residents.

The governor made the statement after an inspection tour of ongoing road and drainage projects across Edo South Senatorial District, where he expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, particularly along Sapele Road and its adjoining corridors.

Okpebholo said the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was already manifesting in Edo State, noting that residents were beginning to enjoy the dividends of democracy through improved infrastructure and connectivity.

Accompanied by the Special Adviser on Projects Implementation and Monitoring, Engr. Phoebe Williams-Bello, the governor inspected projects at Evbhukhu, Amagba, Ohoghobi, Oghehe, Old Sapele Road, Sapele Road Bypass, Uhie Road, Okhabere, the flyover at Adesuwa Junction, Charismatic Renewal Road, Ugbiyoko and Oghede Upper Ekenhuan Road, among others.

He explained that his administration had adopted unannounced inspection visits to ensure contractors comply strictly with approved designs, standards and project timelines.

“We have gone round inspecting so many projects today, and the jobs are progressing. I am very impressed with what we have seen so far, especially on Sapele Road. Anyone who visits that axis will know that this administration is working,” the governor said.

According to him, development is now visible across Edo State as his government continues to deliver on its infrastructure agenda.

“Our administration is changing things in Edo State. We are witnessing growth and development,” Okpebholo added.

At Charismatic Renewal Road, the governor noted significant improvement in the pace of work compared to his previous visit, describing the progress as encouraging.

Reaffirming his commitment to the people, Okpebholo said Edo State was fully aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of the Federal Government.

“The Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is manifesting here in Edo State, and we are building on it to give Edo people a better and improved life. We are creating a new Edo, the Edo of our dreams,” he said.

The governor reiterated his pledge to turn Edo State into a construction hub through sustained investment in roads and drainage projects across the three senatorial districts, stressing that the initiative is opening up communities, boosting economic activities and bringing governance closer to the people.
