ABUJA — Senator Ikpea Joseph Igiagbe has met with the Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, in Abuja to discuss the deteriorating condition of federal roads in Edo Central Senatorial District.
The meeting focused on the urgent need for federal intervention to rehabilitate key road corridors vital for commerce, agriculture, and regional connectivity.
Senator Igiagbe outlined priority road projects, highlighting the impact of poor infrastructure on transportation costs, safety, and the overall quality of life of residents.
Minister Umahi acknowledged the concerns, assuring that the Federal Ministry of Works is assessing critical federal roads nationwide for phased rehabilitation and reconstruction.
He said that Edo Central’s challenges would be considered in line with the Federal Government’s efforts to promote equitable infrastructural development.
Senator Igiagbe commended the Minister’s responsiveness and reaffirmed his commitment to legislative advocacy and collaboration with relevant government agencies to advance infrastructure and development in Edo Central.
