As the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) released the fixtures for the Round of 64 of the 2026 President Federation Cup on Friday,May 15,2026,Bendel Insurance Football Club have been paired against Katsina United Junior Team ,setting the stage for the former Champions to begin this year’s campaign in Nigeria’s oldest domestic football competition.
The Benin Arsenals, according to the fixtures,will be host to the Katsina United Junior at Area 3 field in Abuja on Tuesday,May 19. Kickoff time is 1. 00 PM.
Bendel Insurance FC won the 2023 edition of the Federation Cup after defeating Enugu Rangers 1–0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on June 21,2023 and secured Nigeria’s 4th ticket for CAF tournament.
The prestigious football competition also known as challenge cup in the country,could be another opportunity for the Benin Arsenals to secure another slot for continental tournament as they did in Asaba three years ago. Asaba is again the chosen venue for the final match of this year’s edition as the eventual champions of the Federation Cup wil earn Nigeria’s ticket to the 2026/27 CAF Confederations Cup.
Insurance FC currently occupy the fifth position on the table of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with 55 points and will be host to relegation threatened Remo Stars in the last fixtures of the season on Sunday, May 24.
