Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Mr. Austine Eguavoen has revealed that the Nigeria football governing body was ready to partner with stakeholders towards developing the game of football in Nigeria.
Mr. Eguavoen stated this during the opening ceremony of the maiden CAF/NFF D Licence Coaching Course held at the Patrick Okpomo House, Headquarters of the Delta State Football Association.
The former Super Eagles Coach said there was the need for coaches yet to get the CAF D Licence to do so as it was key to helping them attain the knowledge needed to revamp football in the state as well as enhancing the opportunity to becoming professional coaches.
Eguavoen revealed that the 5-day course aimed at giving the coaches in the state an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the game while assuring them that the CAF D LICENCE would give them a pathway to becoming better coaches.
The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori represented by the Director General of the Commission, Emuobo Egalase averred that the commission would continue to seek avenues aimed at enhancing sports development in the state, stressing that the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration was keen on putting Delta State on a higher sports pedestal.
The Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Chief Godwin Adode revealed that the DFA was committed to repositioning the state’s football sector asserting that the 5-day coaching course would impact on the football sector in the state.
Chief Adode lauded Governor Oborevwori for his commitment o sport development even as he commended FPG Energies for their continued partnership with the DFA and assured that the DFA would continue to work towards stamping the states authority in football through the discovery of talented footballers.
The Coaches were later taken through a drill by former Super Eagles player Edema Fuludu at the Steven Keshi International Stadium Asaba.
