Chikelue Iloenyosi, the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association (AnSFA) has been re-elected for a second term.
Iloenyosi was returned unopposed at the AnSFA Elective Congress held in Awka yesterday.
Darlington Okeke, the returning officer of the election said Iloenyosi polled a total of 23 votes to emerge winner while Johnson Ifejika was returned as the Vice Chairman of the association.
Iloenyosi effectively assumed his first term in office in July 2022.
Also elected as members of the board were Ralph-Chidozie George and Obi Moneke, who are both from Anambra South Senatorial District and Emmanuel Okeke and Nnamdi Igbokwe from Anambra North.
The seats of Anambra South Senatorial District were filled by Ezoakor Donatus Ezeakor, Michael Mbaezue and Ijeoma Nwosu.
In his post-election remark, Iloenyosi appreciated members of the FA for renewing their confidence in him but giving him the chance to administer the game for another four years.
He said he would work with the Anambra Government and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to ensure that football retained its place as the king of sports in Anambra.
Ibrahim Aminu, the representative of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at the election congratulated the winners of the new board, describing the process as free, fair and transparent.
Aminu commended Iloenyosi for the way he administered the game in Anambra noting his unopposed re-election was an indication of the acceptance he enjoyed among his colleagues
