BENIN CITY- The Editorial team of the Bendel Newspaper Company Limited (BNCL) publishers of The OBSERVER titles has assured members of the Urhobos/Isoko Community in Edo State of fair reportage of their activities towards the growth and development of the country.
The Deputy Editor of The NIGERIAN OBSERVER (Daily), Mr. Leo Atakpu gave the assurance yesterday when he played host to the community in Benin City.
Atakpu, who represented the Editor (Daily), Barrister Solomon Imohiosen (KSJI) said the Urhobo/Isoko Community was part and parcel of the defunct Midwestern and Bendel State, until the creation of Edo and Delta States, promising to  give necessary   publicity to the groups activities.
He chronicled the significant attainment of the newspaper since its inception in 1968, stressing that the newspaper has grown in leap and bounds as the reading public now appreciate the services it renders to them.
The newspapers, he added had also gone on-line where people can access it even in distant places apart from the hard copy.
The National Secretary of the Urhobo/Isoko Community, Dr Isaac Oghenevo said their visit was part of their advocacy activities toward sensitizing the electorate on the need to eschew violence during and after elections.
Dr. Oghenevo, who lauded the effort of the management and start of BNCL for keeping the company afloat despite the obvious challenges, stated that the community was behind the company in prayers, expressing optimism that the vision of the founder would one day be realized.
In the community’s entourage were Chief Lawrence Ojaode who represented the Chairman of the community, J.U Akene (patron), Matthew Otashe and Alex Osakpor.
