BENIN CITY – The All Progressives Congress (APC) flag-bearer for Edo South Senatorial Seat, Hon. Samson Osagie said the race is not a matter of PDP or APC, but clearly matter of what benefits would accrue to the people of Edo South Senatorial District.
Hon. Osagie who addressed journalists yesterday in Benin City on Saturday’s election explained that the choice is between a completely inexperienced candidate who would not be able to make any impact in an APC-dominated senate and a tested and ranking member of the National Assembly who has risen to become a leader in the House of Representatives.
He said he remains confident that he will excel in any contest between him and the PDP candidate for Edo South Senatorial District, Pharmacist Matthew Urhoghide, and describing it as laughable the PDP’s claim of victory in six out of the seven local government areas in the senatorial district election.
According to him, it is imperative to inform Edo South people that the March 28, 2015 elections which the PDP claims to have won was characterized by the most blatant of electoral crimes and irregularities occasioned by financial inducements and outright rigging in across the state excepts in Orhionmwon local government area where the PDP and their collaborators were caught pants down.
According to the Edo South APC hopeful, elections could not hold in many of the party’s stronghold areas due to unavailability of electoral materials.
He disclosed that as a member and leader in the House of Representatives, he was able to attract road project over three billion naira, ultra-modern hospitals, police divisions, numerous industrial boreholes, facilities employment for thousands of Edo youths among others.
