Nilayo Sports Management Limited has announced that the third edition of the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the organisers, the registration portal for the 21-kilometre race will officially open on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The race, which has quickly grown into one of Nigeria’s top road races, is expected to attract elite athletes, recreational runners, fitness enthusiasts and corporate teams from across Nigeria and outside the country to Abuja.
Prospective runners can register online when the portal goes live, or physically at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, and organisers have advised early registration to allow for adequate training and preparation.
The event is powered by the partnership between sole sponsor PremiumTrust Bank and Nilayo Sports Management Limited, a leading race organising company in Nigeria, a collaboration that has elevated the profile of the half marathon since its inception.
The November 7 edition is billed to showcase athletics, fitness, entertainment and sports tourism, with promises of improved athlete welfare, top-level logistics, medical support, security and fan engagement.
Reacting to the announcement, the Managing Director/CEO of PremiumTrust Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Efe Efemienim, CON, FCIB, said the bank’s continuous backing of the race underscores its belief that sports inspire excellence, create opportunities and unite communities, adding that the bank is pleased to remain sole sponsor and looks forward to hosting thousands of runners.
On her part, the Managing Director/CEO of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Mrs. Yetunde Olopade, said the 2026 race will build on past successes and meet international standards, while delivering a memorable experience for runners, volunteers, spectators and partners.
She called on athletes to take advantage of the September 18 window to secure their slots and start preparing for a day of competition and celebration that also promotes healthy living, youth engagement and sports tourism in the nation’s capital.
