BENIN CITY – Results of last Saturday’s House of Assembly elections held in Edo State showed the All Progressives Congress sweeping overwhelming majority of the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The results showed the party clearing all Assembly seats in Edo North, and areas declared in Edo South, while the party also won three out of the six seats in Edo Central.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed to win three Assembly seats declared in Edo Central only.

Reports from Ovia North East 1, Ovia North East II, Ovia South West, Owan West and Owan East showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won all the Assembly seats declared by INEC while results from Orhionmwon II is being awaited.
