Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has urged residents of Orhionwon Local Government Area to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, declaring that a vote for the President is equally a vote for his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the declaration at an APC campaign rally in Abudu, the headquarters of Orhionwon Local Government Area, where he called on the people to sustain their support for the APC and its progressive agenda.

He said, “A vote for President Tinubu is a vote for Okpebholo. It is a vote for APC and a vote for the progress of this country.

“The removal of fuel subsidy is the redemption of this country because Nigeria’s resources were in the hands of a few individuals. The gains of that action are why we are able to pay salaries today. We are working and developing the country.”

Governor Okpebholo urged the people to appreciate the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration, noting that the benefits were creating opportunities for governments at all levels to meet their obligations and deliver development to the people.

The people of Orhionwon South erupted in jubilation at the rally, applauding Governor Okpebholo for approving the electrification of the area, which they said had been without electricity for over 25 years. The residents described the approval as a major milestone that would end decades of darkness, improve economic, and enhance the quality of life in their communities.

They expressed appreciation to the governor for responding to their long-standing demand and demonstrating his administration’s commitment to extending development to rural communities.

Other prominent APC leaders who addressed the rally included the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; Director-General of the Edo State APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Uroghide; former Deputy Governors, Dr Pius Odubu and Dr Lucky Imasuen; and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, among others.

The speakers called for sustained support for the APC, highlighting the need for party unity and collective commitment to the party’s electoral success.

The rally also witnessed the defection of new members into the APC, with the party’s Deputy State Chairman, Sylvester Aigbobor, formally receiving the decampees into the party.
