The Enogie of Evboubanosa, Benin Kingdom, HRH Prof. Gregory Akenzua has formally been installed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the 12th Governing Council of the Ambrose Alli University, (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State.

A former vice-chancellor of the institution, Prof. John Osemeikhian was equally conferred with professor emeritus, having served
meritoriously and retired from the service of the institution.

Both events took place during the 19th Convocation Ceremony during which degrees and diploma certificates were issued to graduands of
2011/2012 and 2012/2013 academic sessions.

According to the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku a total of 7882, comprising five First Class, 775 2nd Class
Upper Division, 4757 2nd Class Lower Division, 1979 3rd Class and 366 pass degrees were issued, while 46 students graduate with diplomas.

The chancellor of AAU, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers congratulated the graduands and enjoined them to be good ambassadors of the institution.

He equally charged them to imbibe the positive character of their role models in the society, noting that as youths, they have very critical roles to play in the future of the country.

The pro-chancellor and chairman Governing Council, Prof. Gregory Akenzua expressed gratitude to the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams
Oshiomhole for the opportunity afforded him and other members of the council to serve.

He pledged on behalf of the others to be irrevocably committed to the pursuance of the laudable goals, objectives and ideals for which AAU was established.

In her speech the vice-chancellor, Prof. Agbebaku implored the graduands to remain proud ambassadors of their alma mater and be
guided by the discipline they have been impacted in the school.

She expressed profound gratitude to governor of Edo State for his sustained support for the university, appealing to him to ensure
completion of administrative block before the end of his tenure.

The convocation feature award of prizes to graduands who distinguished themselves in the course of their studies.
