BENIN CITY- The Edo State Head of Service, Mrs. Gladys Osaretin Idahor has expressed the willingness of the State Government to engage proven Pension Administrators when the scheme comes on stream.
Mrs. Gladys Osaretin Idahor stated this when she received representative of Legacy Pension Managers Limited in her office.
The Head of Service maintained that the State Government will be fair to all Pension Fund Administrators as only those who can deliver will be appointed.
She averred that it was the prerogative of the individual worker to choose his or her Pension Fund Administrator without government interference.
The Head of Service informed her visitors that a committee earlier set up to harmonise the issues involved has submitted its report while another committee was set up to evaluate the recommendations of the first committee.
Furthermore, she assured that the state government is already in the process of keying into the Contributory Pension Scheme.
Mrs. Idahor stated that her doors are opened and urge the Pension Managers to come to her whenever they feel like doing business with the state government.
Speaking earlier, the Regional Manager of Legacy Pension Manager Limited, Asaba, Mrs. Nneka Nnando in company of Mr. Nosa Igiebor, Benin Area Manager said they came to congratulate the Head of Service on her well deserved appointment and to also inform her of the Company’s desire to collaborate with the State Government in the handling of the workers Contributory Pension Scheme.
With the Head of Service were Permanent Secretary, Mr. E.T. Idahosa, Directorate of Administration, Permanent Secretary, Barr. M.S. Okojie, Office of the Head of Service, Permanent Secretary, H.A. Idugboe, Ministry of Establishments and Special duties, Mr. Eddy Edioweme, Director, Office of the Head of Service and Mr. Sam Okpeaye, Public Relations Officer.
