BENIN CITY – His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, has urged the publisher of Across African International Magazine, Gbenga Alaka to keep promoting the rich Benin Culture and Tradition with his magazine.

The Oba of Benin who stated this when the publisher paid His Royal Majesty a courtesy visit re-iterated that culture remain a veritable instrument for promoting national unity, saying that the Across Africa International Magazine is of high standard.

While urging the publisher to keep up the good work, the Omo N’Oba assured him of Palace support at all time.

Earlier, the publisher of Across Africa International Magazine, Gbenga Alaka said the purpose of the magazine among others is to promote arts, culture and tourism, pointing out that Benin culture is unique and have stand the test of time, hence the need to continue to promote it to the international community.

He commended Oba Ewuare II for re-enacting the rich culture of Benin Kingdom through the celebration of Ugie Ododua and Ugie Ivie.

The Benin Monarch also received the former Executive Governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who was in the Palace to inform the Oba of his 80th birthday anniversary which comes up on August 12, 2019 and solicited for prayers for a successful celebration.

The Oba of Benin congratulated Chief Odigie-Oyegun on the attainment of 80 years and wished him many more years of fruitful celebration.

The Omo N’Oba admonished him to use his knowledge and wealth of experience to douse the lingering crisis in the Edo State All Progressives Congress, urging all concerned to play it cool.

Oba Ewuare II also received the members of Nigeria Academy of Neurological Surgeon, UBTH Branch, led by Dr. David Umoh, who was in the Palace to inform His Royal Majesty about their forth coming National Conference in November this year in Benin City.

Dr. Umoh said Neuro-Surgeon is a branch of surgery that operates the brain and spinal cord which started in UBTH in 2006.

He offered appreciation to His Royal Majesty for stamping out human trafficking, cultism and activities of Community Development Associations in the state, pointing out that Benin City is now experiencing relative peace progress and development.

The Benin Monarch said the Palace looks forward to receiving the delegates of the Nigeria Academy of Neuro-Surgeon in Benin City in November this year.

The Oba of Benin assured the visitors that Palace would continue to do its best to extinguish all forms of social vices from the society.
