OVIA SOUTH-WEST – The quarter- final matches of the 2019 Edition of Peter Obaseki Football Competition will begin today at Igbogor Village in Ovia Southwest Local Government Area of Edo State as the homers Igbogor FC trade tackle with the defending champions Egboha FC by 1:30 PM.
The other match of the day between invincible FC versus Egbeta Unique Foundation will kick off by 3:30 PM
While tomorrow, Okada J FC will lock horns with Adetunji FC as Iguobanor will be playing against Edo Cocoa FC in the last quarter final match.
The final match of the annual grassroots soccer tourney is expected to be played on Sundays, December 1, 2019.
Recall that the annual soccer fiesta is been sponsored yearly by Peter Obaseki
According to Rev. Fr. Alex Ugo, organiser of this year’s event which is 10th in its series is aimed at engaging youths in the locality with a view to harnessing them to eschew all form of social vices inimical to their development, adding that when youths are engaged with what they like doing best, it will prevent them from indulging in an act capable of undermining the societal values.
