Investigation by our crime reporter revealed that the circumstances surrounding the death could not be unconnected with the hot argument the deceased son, Goodluck Ojanige earlier engaged in with the Fulani sect over their menacing activities in the land, especially on the people’s farm land, where after destroying crops they end up killing the owners.
It was learned that the menacing activities of the Herdsmen over the years have led to the killing of scores of lives in the community making the entire community and environs unsafe for the inhabitants. This is even as many have fled the community for an unknown locations for cover and safety.
Our correspondent gathered that the Fulani Herdsmen who were infuriated by the way and manner Goodluck confronted allegedly reinforce and trailed him (Goodluck) to the farm but found his mother Mrs. Osaro Ojanige, raped her before killing her in the process.
When the operatives of the Homicide Section of the police Zone 5 visited the scene, footprint of cows and a jack knife were discovered around the dead body. The items were recovered while the corpse was deposited at the mortuary.
Multiple sources who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity wailed and wept uncontrollably, especially over the vow and threat by the terrorist sect that they would not rest in their oars until they apprehend Goodluck from either within or outside the shore of the state in view of eliminating him from the earth surface.
