EKPOMA – There was confusion in Ekpoma, Esan West local government area of Edo State as what seemed to be a relationship of roses later turned out to be tragedy, following the death of a middle age girl simply identified as Precious who was enmeshed in an amorous relationship with her lover, Eghaghe Imoisili Destiny.
Destiny it was gathered had relocated Erhiborhibo village where he lived with his father to Ekpoma where he later engaged Precious in a romantic relationship with her and both started dating.
Our correspondent further gathered that Precious took in for Destiny and he (Destiny) related the issue of the pregnancy to his father who advised that he should asks the girl friend not to terminate the pregnancy.
Precious was reportedly not to be comfortable in keeping the pregnancy as a result of the fact that her politician father had always wish her to marry the son of his political ally.
In keeping with her father’s stand, Precious it was learned secretly took some pills unknowing to Destiny. She was said to have developed acute complications which led to her death.
The development it was also gathered infuriated Precious father who busted her daughter’s friend’s house, Juliet who took him and some police personnel to Destiny’s house.
An eyewitness accounts said that Precious father stormed Destiny’s house with police and other men armed with guns and dangerous weapons with a target that they should shoot at sight.
The eyewitness said on getting there, particularly on sighting Destiny the armed men opened fire at him but his father waged the bullets and died in the process.
Destiny was however, Lucky to have narrowly escaped to an unknowm destination from being killed at the scene and has since not be seen or heard of.
The infuriation armed men in the process proceeded to Destiny’s family house and set the entire building ablaze thereby creating pandemonium and apprehension in the community.
