BENIN CITY – The Nigerian Police Command in Benin City has declared wanted, one John Austine and other escapees to explain their involvement in the practice of Bisexual and other related activities in the State.

According to a press release issued by the State police command Public Relations Officer, Stephen Onwochei, Mr. John Austine and some homosexual partners, have been planning and preparing to hold a birthday cum get-together party for their members, in Benin City.

According to the release, some members of the group namely Prince, Festus, Osadebe, Bright, Omon and Kenneth have been arrested on or around July 9, 2015 in the process of setting into action, a birthday or get-together party for homosexuals, gay and bisexual advocates.

The release stated that some of the arrested members have confessed one John Austine and other members of the homosexual group to be strong members on whose arrangements; the homosexual party was being planned.

The police command however, requested members of the public with any useful information that could lead to the arrest of John Austine and other escapees to kindly report to the nearest police station for investigation arrest and prosecution of the homosexual group.

Speaking to newsmen, some members of the group said John Austine has been secretly practicing the homosexual activities since he was fifteen (15) years in the secondary school.

According to the member, “We were earlier caught pants down by one of our neighbours, and because of our age then, we were beaten by the family and warned never to indulge in such activities again”, Osadebe, one of the arrested member confessed.

“We had been friends since secondary school. When we were being arrested, John Austine and some other members of the group escaped and we arrested, tortured, beaten to stupor”, Osadebe added.

As at the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts of John Austine and other escapees could not be ascertained.

It would be recalled that the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria forbids anybody to indulge in the activities of homosexual and gay practices. Anybody found guilty in the act is liable to face 14 years imprisonment.
