BENIN CITY- The life of a young man known as Godstime Osazemwinde is being hunted with death by members of an occultic brotherhood for calling the police to come and rescue another person that they were attacking with a knife in Benin City, THE NIGERIAN OBSERVER has learnt.
The attack on the victim was on July 20, 2015 at Ugbowo, in Benin City. Unknown to (him) that the attackers were members of a secrete cult and that one of them also saw him when he was making the call to the police.
In an attempt to run away, the cult members ran after him but he surprisingly managed to escape from them and hid in the nearby bush.
Two days later, on July 22, at least six of the suspected cult members stormed (his) residence at Ugbowo to ask him why he called the police and before he could respond, they started beating him and one of them brought out a knife and stabbed him on the his hand.
An eye witness to the attack who pleaded anonymity told The NIGERIAN OBSERVER that while making effort to save his life, Godstime Osazemwinde had to push the cult member holding the knife and the knife fell from the assailant hand. Godstime Osazemwinde quickly took the knife from the ground and stabbed one of the cult members that was holding him and at that point in time, the secrete cult members left Godstime Osazemwinde and he ran away into a nearby bush. The cult members pursued him but the eye-witness said they could not get him.
Further investigation by The NIGERIAN OBSERVER revealed that the brotherhood member that Godstime Osazemwinde stabbed later died on July 25, 2015 and the death of their member made the confraternity members furious hence they went to Godstime Osazemwinde residence, destroyed and burnt it.
From the destruction of their home, Mrs. Patience Osazemwinde, knew that the life of her son was no longer safe.
It was learnt by a reliable source, who does not want his name mentioned, that the cult members have vowed to kill Godstime Osazemwinde anywhere and anytime they find him due to the death of their member. Even the police is searching for Godstime Osazemwinde to arrest and prosecute him for murder.
Since Godstime Osazemwinde escaped from the cult members into the bush on that fateful day, nobody knows his whereabouts.
