UROMI – Members of the notorious secret society,the Ogboni fraternity are after the life of a young be man, Ebhohimhen Obehi,over the alleged killing of one of their members.
Investigation by our reporter reveals that, Obehi,whose father was a leader of the fraternity in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, Edo State,died on June 17,2011.It was his death that made the family know that he was Ogboni fraternity member,as members of the fraternity came to Ebhohimhen’s house to initiate his son,Obehi into the society.
Investigation further reveals Mr Ebhohimhen has given the society members instructions that Obehi, being the eldest child should take over his position in the fraternity.
It was learnt that about four members of the fraternity, Usifor, Osemudia, Osazua and Mr Odigie came back on June 27, 2011 to forcefully take him to their fraternity house for the initiations rites. Obehi,who had earlier rebuffed their call for him to join the group, brought out his father’s gun to scare them. The gun mistakenly went off and hit one of the men, who later died of gunshot injuries
Obehi had to flee for his life.
The Ogboni fraternity have vowed to eliminate Obehi to avenge the death of one of their own.
The Police are also on his trail and he has been declared wanted to explain his level of involvement in the killing of the fraternity member.
