Abuja: A top political aide to the Minister of State Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been implicated in lesbian activities as her security aide prevented her from being arrested and assisted her escape from the scene of the crime.
The political aide identified as Mrs. Olufunmilayo Hannah Aigbomian is the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister for State as she was among the 13 persons apprehended including her partner Aviela Komi as they were all arrested in a coordinated raid carried out by a special police squad.
The Special Squad according to report was inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) immediately the passing of the anti-gay law, prohibiting the activities of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders following the rise in homosexual activities across the nation.
According to report, the police boss assigned the Squad to arrest and flush out all LGBTQ+ members in the FCT and by extension the Nation, following the signing into law a bill that criminalises same-sex relationships by President Goodluck Jonathan despite Western governments urging Nigeria not to pass the law.
President Jonathan signed the bill on Monday 13th January 2014 as the bill contains penalties of up to 14 years in imprisonment and bans gay activities, gay marriage, same-sex “amorous relationships” and membership of gay rights groups.
The political aide is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of “New Edenn House of Avanti” an organization that is into beauty and fashion designing and has also partnered with the Federal Government SURE-P to train and empower hundreds of women across the country.
An investigation allegedly revealed that the CEO uses her organization through her programs to support and empower women and girls who front and promotes the agenda of lesbianism and systematically empowering those that are members of the LGBTQ+ group.
The raid followed an intelligent report of gays and lesbians activities at the disposal of the squad at the force headquarters in Abuja with a matching order from the IGP to arrest and prosecute such personalities in the society no matter how highly placed in Nigeria.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of the squad, (name withheld) said his men monitored the activities of the group at Gwarimpa Estate in Abuja for several weeks before carrying out the raid to arrest persons involved and connected with the group that is practicing homosexuality.
DCP said the group hides under an empowerment Organisation to perpetuate the evil and abominable act which is punishable by law in Nigeria with a 14 years jail term if offenders are found guilty of the crime.
According to DCP, the police have been on the trail of the CEO of “New Edenn House of Avanti” a None Governmental Organisation (NGO) with the pretence of empowering widows, young girls and women and lifting vulnerable women out of poverty.
He noted that the CEO and a political appointee of the FCT Minister has been allegedly operating a syndicate under the NGO to recruit and support lesbians and gays as she uses her position to advance the course of the LGBTQ+ movement.
He added that the operation was successful but for the resistance of the political aide whose security refused her arrest as they engaged men of the special squad in physical combat and uses tear gas to disrupt the process. He noted that the action of these policemen is a sabotage as the police authority will bring these erring officers to justice.
“Our operation follows several petitions received from different organizations and concerns Nigerians. During our raid, we met the shameless ladies half naked, dancing and having different sexual activities with a fellow female partner. We monitored them and observe their atrocities before embarking on the arrest. We can not allow this kind of nefarious activity to keep going on in our society. With the new law that is recently enacted in Nigeria, people like this should be arrested immediately and prosecuted.
“We were dismay at what we saw as it was shocking to say the least, that a highly placed married woman has engaged herself in such activities of lesbianism. She resisted arrest and made some calls while waiting for her to dress up properly. Before we knew it over 15 police officers including Mobile policemen came in three Hilux vans to the scene to disrupt her arrest.
“These men were brutal in their approach as they destroyed properties in the venue(name withheld), shot sporadically and about six persons were injured, three of our men injured as well. They forcefully took the Political aide, and her Togolese partner identified as Aviela Komi to an undisclosed location.
“Investigation revealed that the FCT Minister allegedly sent some of her police escorts to rescue her aide after she called her from the scene of the crime. The move has cast doubt on the minister’s loyalty to the rule of law as many critics questioned if she is not part of the lesbian syndicate, trying to cover her tracks and that of her aide”.
A roadside food vendor, Rabiu Dangoro, who spoke to our reporters, decry the activities of the Minister’s security, he said “we can not develop society like this where some powerful people are bigger than the law, the minister should be the one protecting the law of the land not the other way round”.
Some other members of the FCT resident, a taxi driver who spoke to our reporters, said, “Many believe that they are using government influence to shield their crime, while they keep promoting the agenda of the LGBTQ+ movement systematically”. Have you asked the question, “Why is it that it’s only those in that category of identifying themselves as sexual minority that gets support in this FCTA empowerment programs since this minister came into office? What is special about them? We cannot allow minorities to dictates the tune of events in our society as we have to do everything possible to flush them out from our society.
This is a great nation, a blessed country with all natural endowments; we cannot allow the West with their secret agenda to establish their ideology and promotes the activities of the LGBTQ+ Movement in Nigeria. We are grateful to the government of President Goodluck Jonathan for finding the courage to enact a law that prohibits the movement, despite all odds against the enactment of the law, especially from western leaders who frowned at the new law against the LGBTQ+ movement, said Alhaji. Ahmed Yusuf.
As at the time of filling in this report the Police Boss has given order for a proper investigation to ascertain the role of the Minister in assisting his PA to escape from the scene of the crime and the level of police involvement and also vows that the force is determined to eradicate this abominable act of homosexual from the society and nation in general.
