BENIN CITY – A retired Permanent Secretary and Chairman, Edo State Board of Internal Revenue Services, Dr. Osayande Ugiagbe JP, has joined millions of Edo State people, to felicitate with His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Ukuakpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II CFR, on his recent award and conferment of the prestigious Commander of the Federal Republic, by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
He described the honour as not only unique and inspirational, but historic and monumental achievement to the palace of the Oba of Benin, the Benin royal family and indeed the entire Benin Kingdom, saying the honour came when the entire people of Benin Kingdom are preparing for the celebration of the Monarch’s birthday and six years coronation anniversary in the saddle of leadership as the Oba.
Dr. Ugiagbe JP, who is the next elder to be installed as the Odionwere of Isihor Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State, disclosed that the Oba of Benin, being the chief custodian of our rich culture and tradition, has played a predominant role towards the success of the people, pointing out that his fatherly and spiritual dispositions in the Kingdom, has endeared the people to unity, love and uncommon progress, which according to him, has remained a reference point to other ethnic nationalities in the state and country.
The retired Permanent Secretary, prayed for good health, long life and abundant wisdom upon the Oba and his Benin royal family, to enable him perfect his formidable legacies in the kingdom, stressing he has distinguished himself as first among equal monarchs in the world, being our God on earth, who ceaselessly intercedes between God and ancestors for the prosperity of the people.
He reaffirmed his continuous loyalty, commitment and support to the progressive ideology of the monarch for the purposes of taking the kingdom to an enviable level in terms of transformation and development, stressing the Benin monarch has changed the leadership narratives in the country, just as he advised the people of the kingdom, especially the elders to closely work in tandem with the Oba to enhance integrity, dignity and uncommon love among the people.
