…. Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden all score in first half before Chris Mepham’s own goal.

Manchester City cruised to a convincing 4-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday to keep in touch with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

Julian Alvarez scored the Blues’ first after 15 minutes with a tap in following Erling Haaland’s effort hitting the crossbar.

Haaland had a goal of his own less than quarter of an hour later though.
A ball from the left by Ilkay Gundogan did not quite reach Phil Foden but fell to Haaland to fire home. On the stroke of half time, City added their third.

Bournemouth gifted the ball to Foden who showed great composure to fire past Neto. Alvarez thought he had his second of the match but his effort shortly after the restart was deemed to be an own goal by Chris Mepham.

Jefferson Lerma scored in the last ten minutes to take some gloss off the scoreline but it was a comfortable night for the Blues. They have moved to within two points of the Gunners at the top of the Premier League.

The result leaves City two points behind Arsenal at the top of the table, while Bournemouth lie second-bottom.
