Defending champion Safety Babes are coasting home to a fourth unprecedented premier handball league title following their impressive victory over Plateau Peacocks on day 8 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024 Phase 2 In Lagos.

Safety Babes, owned by the Federal Road Safety Corp, still remains best amongst the top teams of the Ardova Handball and lead the women category in the league with seven points above Defender Babes, coasting home to yet another victory as they beat 2018 champion Plateau Peacocks 40-28.

It will take an extraordinary mishap to happen for them not to make history by winning their fourth unprecedented league title at a stretch.

In other matches in the women category, Rivers Queens won the South-South derby as they earned a hard-fought 30-29 victory over Delta Queens while Seasider Babes of Lagos shocked Rima Queens with a laboured 23-22 victory.

COAS Babes are temporarily out of the relegation zone following their 39-29 win over bottom placed Bendel Dynamos while Defender Babes are still second in the league with their important 40-26 victory over Imo Grasshoppers.

In the Men category, Benue Buffaloes defeated D.Defenders 30-19 while Corrections Boys comfortably outscored Sunshine Kings 40-25.

Second placed Rima Strikers are piling up pressure on league leaders Tojemarine HC following their 29-24 victory over Seasider Boys of Lagos while Kano Pillars dug deep to beat Adamawa Warriors 33-32.

Defending champion Niger United also struggled to defeat Safety Shooters 23-22.
