PORT HARCOURT – Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) governorship candidate in Imo, Chief Angus Uzoamaka, has said that retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s victory was as a result of hardwork and determination.
Uzoamaka stated this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, while reacting on Buhari’s electoral victory.
Congratulating the president-elect, Uzoamaka described the victory as not only a victory for Nigerians but one for democracy.
‘’This shows that Nigerian democracy is improving remarkably; it is a good message to the world that we have advanced in democracy.
‘’For an incumbent to be defeated in an election and at the same time conceding defeat shows we are now mature,’’ he said.
Uzoamaka, who called on Nigerians to consolidate on their electoral awareness, urged Buhari to put Nigeria on the path of prosperity again.
The gubernatorial candidate said that it was necessary for the president-elect to in his usual nature, combat corruption unconditionally.
According to him, Nigeria’s biggest problem is corruption and it is expected of Buhari to fight it without sentiments.
Uzoamaka expressed confidence in the ability of Buhari to address Nigeria’s myriad of problems for a political and economic stable nation.
The candidate explained that Nigeria had proved that it was indivisible and ready to move forward.
He extolled the leadership qualities of President Goodluck Jonathan,saying that he was a true democrat.
Uzoamaka called on all politicians to toe the path of President Jonathan, adding that it was the only roadmap towards a peaceful Nigeria.
