Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been named among the nominees for the 2024 Best Men’s Player award, part of the annual Globe Soccer Awards hosted by the Dubai Sports Council.
Lookman and Liverpool superstar Mohammed Salah are the only Africans on the shortlist.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Vinicius Junior, Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandoski, Cole Palmer, and Jude Bellingham are among the other nominees for the award.
Lookman has enjoyed an outstanding year for both club and country.
The 27-year-old was one of the star performers for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Atalanta star scored three goals and registered one assist in seven matches for the Super Eagles at the competition.
The scintillating winger also scored a historic hat-trick for Atalanta in the final of the UEFA Europa League.
He also finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or ranking and is also in the race for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award.
