BENIN CITY – The Edo State Government has appointef of Dr. Anthonia Inibokun Njoku as the Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital, Benin City.
A statement signed by Barr. Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government indicated that te appointment, approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo, takes effect from December 4, 2024.
Dr. Njoku, a highly accomplished medical professional, brings a wealth of experience to the role. A graduate of the University of Maiduguri’s College of Medical Sciences, she also holds advanced qualifications from the University of Benin, the West African Bioethics Institution, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
A Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons, Dr. Njoku has served in various capacities, including as a Senior Lecturer at Ambrose Alli University and Honorary Consultant at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. She is also a member of key medical associations, such as the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria and the Medical Women’s Association.
In her new role, Dr. Njoku is expected to leverage her extensive expertise to elevate healthcare delivery at Edo Specialist Hospital. Her appointment underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to strengthening the state’s healthcare sector.
