JOS – The Plateau Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Olivier Dazem, said that the state government had so far spent N500 million on the construction of a High Court Complex in Jos.
Dazem told newsmen in Jos that the measure was part of the initiatives to provide conducive environment for dispensation of justice.
She said the essence of the project was to ensure a comfortable accommodation for justice delivery, adding that judges need a comfortable complex for justice delivery.
According to her, the present complex is a legacy given to them but it requires a change due to the current realities and innovation in the judicial system.
“It is a dream come true for the legal profession to get to this level in the state,’’ the commissioner said.
The commissioner also applauded the government for establishing a lasting legacy in the judicial sector.
Also, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Silvanus Dantoe, told newsmen that he was impressed with the level of work on the site.
Dantoe said with every indication the present government would take the project to a level that the next government would appreciate.
He said the contractors had been fully mobilised, they would have no excuse for not completing the project at the stipulated period.
