BENIN CITY- A 28 year old man, one Aghimien Osazuwa, has been declared wanted by men of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Nigeria Police Force, Zone ‘5’ Headquarters, Benin City over alleged culpable homicide.
Mr. Emeka Iheanacho, the AIG Zone ‘5’ Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City, the state capital.
DSP Iheanacho said that the suspect was declared wanted following a report of the death of One Mr. Osarobor Friday, stepfather to the on the run Osazuwa.
The Police Spokesman explained that the suspect, Osazuwa was reported to have mistakenly hit his stepfather while separating a fight between the now deceased (Mr. Osarobor Friday) and his mother, Mrs. Philo Osarobor.
“On the 14th day of September, 2016 at about 1 600hrs, a case of culpable homicide was reported against one Aghimien Osazuwa, ‘28’, ‘m’, resident of No.47, Okungbowa street, Off Siluko Road, Benin City now on the run “That one Mr. Osarobor Friday (now deceased), stepfather to the fleeing Osazuwa was fighting with his wife, Philo Osarobor (mother of Osazuwa) when in an attempt to separate the husband and wife from fighting that he, Osazuwa mistakenly hit his stepfather who immediately fell to the ground and was in coma.
“Mr. Osarobor, the police were told was immediately rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where he died 3 days after, while receiving treatment.
‘That the suspect,’ Aghimien Osazuwa upon discovering the death of his stepfather, decided to disappeared to unknown location.
“All effort to arresting the culprit (Aghimien Osazuwa) proved abortive, just as investigation continues”, Iheanacho stated.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that angered by the death of their father, Osazuwa’s step siblings have declared a manhunt for Osazuwa with a view to avenge the death of their father by eliminating him (Osazuwa) as they were reported to have spread their dragnets across Nigeria and beyond.
