PORT HARCOURT – Mr Victor Giadom, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress governorship campaign for Rivers State, has said that the party would run an issue based campaign.
Giadom, who is also the Commissioner for Works in the state, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the party would not talk about personalities as it would amount to waste of time.
He said the campaign would focus on security, empowerment, job creation, infrastructural development and other issues that would move the state forward.
Giadom said the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Dakuku Peterside, was fit to govern the state having served as a commissioner and presently a member of the National Assembly.
He said the party was optimistic that Peterside would surpass the achievements of Amaechi if elected as the governor of the state.
‘’ We know that our governorship candidate, Honourable Dakuku Peterside, was a former commissioner for works in Rivers State.
‘’ And we also know that he has what it takes to maintain the legacies of our governor, Right Honourable Chibuike Amaechi.
‘’And as a son, as somebody who is coming up to succeed his former boss, I do know that he has no better option than to do better than his boss.
‘’ So, we are confident and we know that one of the things that we will achieve from the candidature of Dr Peterside is that we will have improved and quality governance in our state.’’
Giadom said Rivers people should expect the best from Peterside if elected governor of the state.
