BENIN CITY – The Medical Director of Central Hospital, Benin City, Dr. Barry Uwadiae has said that the personal intervention of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has brought life to the 102 year old hospital.

Dr. Uwadiae in a chat with The Nigerian OBSERVER in Benin City also commended the purposeful leadership and forsight of the Oshiomhole-led government for erecting an ultra-modern complex which has given the hospital a new look.

With the development, he said a new lease of life has been opened for patients in the hospital and health care delivery in the state.

In order to put the new facility into good use, he said he had embarked on a unit to unit re-orientation and sensitization of staff on the need for attitudinal change to work.

He however maintained that the new hospital complex is part and not a new Central Hospital as erroneously reported in the media.

The Central Hospital, he said, with the intervention of the governor has now been aesthetically programmed to cater for the needs of patients in a friendly hospital environment which is clean and could boast of a modern state of the art complex, with anticipated full complement of equipment.

Dr. Uwadiae noted that he is blessed by the efforts of the governor whose campaign of success in the development of Edo State health sector gives him better ground as an Orthopaedic Surgeon to practice Sophisticated Surgery at the fully, equipped Central Hospital Complex.
