That honourable members of Edo State House of Assembly recently effected a change of leadership is no longer news. The leadership of the APC, Edo State is dismayed however by the spate of misinformation and disinformation that has been brought to bear on a normal and routine democratic process.

As was to be expected, the erstwhile leaders of the House resisted the move to effect a change but ultimately recalled this position when it became apparent that those who were in favour of the exercise were in the majority.

The State Exco has since prevailed on the two sides to the initial misunderstanding to come together and dialogue on ways to reach an amicable settlement. The State Governor Godwin Obaseki also lent his voice to the appeal for an amicable resolution. Following these requests from the Party leadership, the honourable members have since come together to discuss and resolve their differences.

The APC leadership in Edo State is fully conscious that good governance is a collective and collaborative effort of all critical stakeholders and have impressed it on the honourable members that no sacrifice is too great on their part, to ensure that the vision and policies of the APC administration in Edo State are fully realized for the overall benefit of our people. The leadership has further assured all members of the APC, our teeming supporters and all indigenes of Edo State that the recent change in the leadership of the State House of Assembly has been successfully and amicably settled, and that the honourable members of the House have returned to their constitutionally assigned role of making laws for the good governance of Edo State.

All the speculations of an irreparable rift in the House or the APC Edo State are false and unfounded. The APC in Edo State remains one united and indivisible family, and the leadership is poised to take Edo State to the next level as promised during the campaigns.
